| Okay so I came back from David's house maybe an hour or
so ago. Brian drove me there... it wasn't really that fun, Eric was trying to
install his deck and Raymond was helping, everyone else was playing games but
they quickly left. I played three or so games of MvC2, then just stayed online
for most of the time. |
| 9.29.01 9:07 PM (Saturday) |
I didn't update yesterday, so I might as well explain
what I did yesterday.
Lesee... watched "Iron Chef" in Japanese. I've heard raving reviews of it but I
never had the chance to see it (when everyone was telling me about it we didn't
get Food Network.) It's pretty... weird, typically Japanese. AP Stats, new seats.
During lunch I wandered around school, I received a $10 present from Mr. Austin
Wang, and then I remembered I had to buy a yearbook so I went downstairs b/c it
was the last day the school was selling them for $45. It was a big line, and the
past two years I never experienced big lines for yearbooks... anyways Amy let me
cut, and I let Marta cut. Then I told Luk to get me a Small Spicy Chicken Strips
from Ezell's but he got a large one... oh well. On my way upstairs I saw Sujot,
who now goes to a different school, and we said hello and that stuff. Eh the rest
of lunch I just tried to pawn off some chicken in Stever's. I got home, was
supposed to go to FFC with my sister, but she had to work, so I just fell asleep.
And I was sick the entire day.
Today I did completely nothing in the morning, talked to Khaliun about seeing
"Zoolander" but we didn't plan anything. I went with my sister to Family Fun
Center, we played two games on the Korean 3rd Mix, but it really wasn't all that
great. I got to play "Strictly Business" for the first time though. Then we went
to Southcenter to play the 4th Mix machine, and my sister had to go look for a
present. The line for DDR was long but I played a couple of times, twice with my
sisters, another time with this other guy shadowing me. |
| 9.27.01 11:39 PM (Thursday) |
| Wrapping up the last few minutes of my b-day, today
was pretty normal, other than all the Jewish people were out because of Yom
Kippur. I found out I got a 71% on the rescore in Creighton today... yay! Hehe.
Lunch was spent trying to do LA work in Stever's, but I couldn't concentrate. In
AP LA we had a work day, we ended up walking around the track towards the end of
class though. |
| 9.27.01 1:27 AM (Thursday) |
| Happy b-day to me :) Today (yesterday) 1-3-5, oral quiz
in Japanese and worksheet, unit test in AP Stats, lunch in Key Club making
origami cranes, 5th period TA with guest Lynn. Rained really hard as school got
out, got quite soaked while running to bus. |
| 9.25.01 11:45 PM (Tuesday) |
| Today we had a rescore for US History, I initially got
a 56% or so. Got our DBQ's on 17th century colonization back, I got 25/65. I'm
doing so horribly in that class yet I'm not stressing... during lunch we had the
first NHS meeting of the year, we didn't have any senators so my friends (and Ms.
Strentz) were encouraging me to sign up. I got an application but, I'll think
about it. Then I bought a lunchroom lunch, a rarity for me, but I couldn't
freaking eat it because of my teeth hurting... yeah and the day ended normally
too. |
| 9.24.01 6:04 PM (Monday) |
| My teeth hurt. I just came back from the orthodontist
and they changed by wires and that crap and they didnt' even give me any
Orthobucks because two of my bands were loose... I'm sad :( Oh well in school I
found out I'm getting a C in AP US History! All right! We also had an essay free
response test, I hope I did alright. I'm the dead center of the distribution of
grades. I went to Ezell's for lunch with Carl... long line. Nothing really
interesting, so, bye bye. |
| 9.22.01 10:52 PM (Saturday) |
Big day today! I woke up kinda early and did all my
Calculus and Statistics homework, I was so proud of myself. Ordered a cake,
talked to Peter to tell him to come pick me up at 2:35. Waited until then. Then
Peter came, we loaded the b-day stuff into the car, and we drove to David's house
to pick him up. Picked up the cake, went to Chinatown and dropped it off at Top
Gun, rode the bus tunnel to Downtown to go to Gameworks. Used a 2 hour card, but
it got pretty boring... the 3rd and USA Mix of DDR there really suck, they need
to get a new version. I spent like 30 minutes trying to beat Mr. Driller but I
couldn't get past 3000 feet! Oh well. We stopped by Barnes and Noble so I could
buy Elements of Style, a book for LA. Then we rode the bus tunnel back to
Chinatown, on the bus there was this old dude with some rectangular device hidden
in his chest and I was thinking "OH NO IT'S A BOMB!" Luckily nothing blew up.
Dropped by Kinokuniya to get an eraser, grabbed the party things and waited
outside of Gossip. Then people started coming...
We waited around 20 minutes for everyone to come, 20 or so people ended up going.
We marched to Top Gun and I made reservations so we got to sit in this private
area. Yeah... we got food and I distributed party hats, which were made by
attaching plastic cups to a bunch of rubber bands. I also gave out party favors,
which consisted of a chocolate starlight mint, a packet of honey or margarine
from KFC, and assorted condoms. It was funny... then we took group pictures with
the party hats! Great. After we ate, the cake was brought out, and to my surprise
it said "Happy 60th Birthday"... uhh... that was kinda funny I guess. It only had
one candle though. So we all ate cake, and then I paid the check, which was like
$164... a lot of money indeed. We all waited outside of the restuarant while some
people left, and I asked the rest of the group who was waiting if they wanted to
sing karaoke, and lots of people did. We went to SBK with 13 people left. I sang
the first song, "Lifetime Respect" by Douzan Miki and it was really long so
people started to get bored... harhar the Asian songs weren't very popular.
Sometime during the middle I realized I left my Barnes and Noble bag in the box
that we threw away in the alley so we rushed to get it; luckily it was retrieved.
At the end there was a mad rush to sing more songs. Yeah, I guess it was pretty
fun... it got real stuffy in there though. At the end we just hung around in the
Pit, then we all said goodbye and left. |
| 9.21.01 10:08 PM (Friday) |
| Today was interesting. During school we had a Fall
Sports Assembly, and our '03 class got a lot of school spirit over the summer.
After every sentence an ASB officer or administrator made, our section of the gym
kept doing '03-related chants and it was kinda weird. In History we had a test,
which was hard... I got a 68% on the quiz we took yesterday! Lunch, Brian took
me, David, Peter to Wendy's, where I got two nasty double stacks. Sixth period we
did absolutely nothing! So afterschool I met up with David, and Peter, and we
went to go buy party supplies for tomorrow. We went to QFC first, but found out
they had no party hats, so we went to Rite Aid, but the hats were too expensive.
We went back to QFC to find paper cups so we could make party hats ourselves. We
went to David's house to make the hats. Then we went to my house to make party
favor bags and played a little DDR. Dinner at Taco Time in Georgetown, such a
depressing place. Back to David's where Peter called his sister to find out
Tori's number to find out Nicole's number so we could talk to Alesha who was
Nicole's house. They might go tomorrow. And then Peter drove me home. I'm tired!
But I have to wait for more people to sign on to remind them about tomorrow. |
| 9.20.01 11:58 PM (Thursday) |
| Today we had our second long day, the first day to
have 2-4-6. Today was HARD, I think Thursdays will always be hard: AP Calc we had
a test, AP History we had a quiz, a long-ass lecture, and an assignment, lunch I
went to Gossip with Brian and David and got sick off of coconut milk tea, then in
AP LA we had some discussion and lecture there too. Tomorrow will be better, I
hope. |
| 9.20.01 1:59 AM (Thursday) |
| Well I'm updating a few hours earlier, so there's an
improvement there I guess... today (okay, yesterday) was nothing too eventful,
besides the fact that it was the first 1-3-5 days of this schoolyear. We played
games in Japanese, which was actually kinda fun. Lizzy and I made a game last
year called "Totoro to otouto to otousan to sumomo mo momo no game 3000" and I
got to play it! We had another fire drill which ruined our very first STARS.
Third period, lots of work in Stats... the seniors were kinda late because of the
senior meeting so at first it was only me and Celia. I went to my first Key Club
meeting of this year, because I didn't know there was a meeting last week. After
that I went with Amy and Jennifer to Ezell's. In 5th David and I finished grading
our quizzes, and it was pretty boring. Now I'm watching this really bad movie
called "Fatal Error" starring Antonio Sabato, Jr., and it was made in 1999... it's
a really stupid movie about this computer bug that can kill people. Time to watch
the conclusion... |
| 9.19.01 5:44 AM (Wednesday) |
| I didn't update again last night so I must do it this
morning... Yesterday was a pretty normal, boring day. I was wearing my glasses
because I was too lazy to wear my contacts, people were like "You got glasses?"
Nothing too unusual, during lunch I went to Magic Dragon with Alesha and Nicole
and I got a nasty Magic Bowl. Uhh.. yeah. |
| 9.18.01 5:00 AM (Tuesday) |
| Today (okay, well, yesterday) was weird. We had a DBQ
in AP US, our first of the year, I know I failed it (I BSed a whole bunch of crap
about the Pilgrims and Puritans) but for some reason I'm not worried. I hope I'm
not too used to getting bad grades in AP Euro... hehe. Anyways during the DBQ I
swear it smelled like gas, and I was looking around and everyone else noticed it
too. When our teacher went to open the door for ventilation he found another
class evacuated their classroom because they smelled gas too. Well, we kept
writing. Another lunch spent in Stever's, I should really find somewhere else to
go... then in 5th I thought I smelled gas again, and I was right. We had to
evacuate, so we went out to the field for the majority of the period. Anyways,
when I got home I was feeling really sad for some reason. I don't know why...
hopefully today will be a better day. |
| 9.17.01 2:05 AM (Monday) |
| I got my DDR Extra Mix to work today! I used a swap
trick. I tried the swap trick before, but it didn't work... then I came across
this website that said I had to swap it once more. It would be a lot better if I
had a mod chip though, because there's always the potential of scratching one of
the games when swapping. Yeah Extra Mix is pretty cool. I played it for a few
hours today... now I'm doing HW. Time for Statistics homework! Peace. |
| 9.15.01 7:10 PM (Saturday) |
These past two days have been pretty much uneventful.
Yesterday was a pretty ordinary day, Adjective worksheet in Japanese with Asian
no nashi (yeah the teacher called them "Japanese pears" but over here they're
called "Asian pears." So bleh =P) During lunch I stayed in Stever's to get some
work done but I ended up playing two games of X-Men vs. SF. I anticipated I could
work on my 2nd Einstein's Dreams packet during 5th but I had to grade some
quizzes, then Stever told me I could tell him when I had something due so I could
work on it instead of doing TA work, but he mentioned this at the end of class...
I had to grade the quizzes alone, too, because David F., wasn't there. LA 6th, we
went outside to finish annotating our packets, and I didn't finish, but oh well.
I got a ride home from Amy afterschool.
Today I went with my sister to Southcenter to look for a Game Enhancer because
our mod chip isn't coming... no store had it. Then we went to play DDR once, PPP
once. We went to Great Wall Mall to play DDR again (she was looking for an air
freshener), I played thrice (US Mix sucks so much though!) I was going to to go
to Northgate to watch the CS tournament (or was it just ppl playing CS... hmm)
but I decided to stay home and plan my b-day dinner next week instead. |
| 9.14.01 3:43 AM (Friday) |
| Another boring day. The highlight of my day was playing
this Flick the Nick game in AP Stats where we had to flick a nickel 25 times,
recording how close it got to the goal line. In History today we discussed a
little more on the Tuesday incident, then we watched a movie about Puritans...
and I was falling asleep. During lunch I spent the entire time in Stever's
playing Final Burn! But yeah. 6th period LA, we took pictures, I think I blinked. |
| 9.13.01 12:25 AM (Thursday) |
| The day after the national disaster things seem to
have gotten back to normal, somewhat. We didn't talk or discuss about the
incident except for in AP US History, where we spent more than half of the class
asking questions to the very knowing Mr. Creighton. The day went on as normal...
easy quiz on counting in Japanese (hitotsu, futatsu, mittsu...), regular work in
AP math classes, lunch with Gabino and others at McDonald's, regular TA work 5th
and book annotating stuff 6th. It feels good to be back to normal I guess. |
| 9.11.01 9:56 PM (Tuesday) |
| Today: National Disaster. In a date that will live on
in US History, forever in infamy, the Twin Towers of the WTC were knocked down by
two hijacked planes, and another hijacked plane crashed into the Pentagon, and
another one near Pittsburgh. This morning, when I first came to school, I had no
idea the disaster had taken place just as I had woken up. Everyone was telling me
about it in 1st period Japanese. Then we watched the news (which is strange
because we always stick to the schedule in Japanese.) The news reassured me the
thing was HUGE. Second period, I was shaken... we did work, I didn't learn
anything. Third period more work. Fourth period AP US History, we had a small
lecture on terrorism and US defense and we watched the news again. Lunch, I
thought my life had returned to normal, I went out with Aaron and others to
Ezell's but the line was full, on to AM/PM but the line was long too, so we went
to the AC back at school. In 5th I did regular TA work. Sixth period we had an
outside discussion on the events. And when I got home, I turned on the news and
started watching, and my sense of security crumbled again. I can't force myself
to do any homework. I'm hoping nothing else goes wrong. |
| 9.10.01 11:30 PM (Monday) |
| Today was usual... in Japanese we had to finish this
brainstorm thing where we had to think of words in different categories (ie
"katakana with long sound," "hiragana with small 'ya'," etc.) because we only got
195/300 on Friday. In AP Calc Mr. Nomura couldn't finish us a problem... In AP
Stats we had a (easy I think) surprise quiz and we had to present our hot dog
back to back stemplots. My group did the sodium content of two groups of dogs. AP
History we had a lecture. Oh yeah during the beginning lunch I went to pick up my
new schedule. Instead of getting into Physics (which I'm glad I didn't, otherwise
I would be swamped with homework) I now TA for Stever 5th with David F. We
basically did recording stuff today. After band I went to tell Acox I wasn't
taking Band anymore, after this long awkward silence he said, "Bye." Hella scary!
AP LA just the usual. Then afterschool I was going to ride the bus home but I saw
Amy and Shu Ming, so I bummed a ride with Amy. |
| 9.9.01 3:08 PM (Sunday) |
| Today is such a lazy day. Yesterday I went to David's
house and played some games, then Eric and Alex B. came over and we went to
Wendy's and Southcenter. I DDRed a bunch and I also tried to Parapara! It was
kinda funny. Afterwards we went to Jeffo's house to look at his porn, back to
David's house for some weird conversation, and then I was dropped home. |
| 9.6.01 6:56 PM (Thursday) |
| Second day of school over. I'm expanding this journal
to include more on my school life. Today was quite boring, review in most
classes; in AP Stats we had to bring M&M's and we counted them and whatnot but WE
COULDN'T EAT THEM! Oh well. I've got HW in all my core classes... AP Calc, AP
Stats, AP US History, AP Language Arts. I also got all my textbooks today so I
had to carry a lot home but it's all good because I get to leave some books at
home. For lunch I went to Wendy's with Gabino, David, and Brian S. Then after
that I had to sit through band without my instrument because I "forgot" it...
teacher was kinda pissed :) After Band David F. and I went to Stever's to request
being TA's 5th. Eh that is, if I don't get into Physics... |
| 9.5.01 3:48 PM (Wednesday) |
| First day of school was today! I woke up early, took
a shower, and even had time for breakfast. I was a little dressy today but that's
okay. It felt a little good to go to Japanese 1st period, because I'm so familiar
with the classroom and atmosphere, but I'm dreading going back to it 1st period
for the rest of the year. AP Stats were a little strange b/c Celia and I are the
only juniors in the class. And lunch was boring, I just walked around talking to
people. Although, it was good to see everyone again. Band was boring as well, I
mainly talked to Hannah, Nicole, and David F., the other juniors in the class.
I'm currently deciding whether I should TA, switch into Physics, or stay in Band
(hmm). I lost my shades sometime during the day, and I realized that afterschool.
Well I have a new bus route, 301, and it's great because it actually has several
stops on Graham. On the bus today I was talking to Shu Ming about DDR. It's great
because she's actually into it now! |
| 9.4.01 8:48 PM (Tuesday) |
It's the day before my junior year starts! It should be
interesting. Today I did really... nothing. I've been online a lot today, and
just talking to people. Yesterday was a lot more fun, when Gabino took me and
David to Alderwood except it was disappointing because the arcade sucked. Well
afterwards we ate and went to Gabino's house and played some PS2, then he drove
us home, except I stayed at David's house and played more games. I beat Super
Puzzle Fighter II on Hard mode! I was really happy. PS HAPPY BIRTHDAY
ALICE! |
| 9.2.01 12:27 AM (Sunday) |
| What an interesting day... I went to David's house to
chill and play games, then Eric came, we ate dinner, then were going to
Southcenter, but we saw James' car so we followed it... all the way to Bellevue!
We ended up at some Brain Child learning center thing (forget the name) and
forced James into our car, and we went to Southcenter to play games. I played
more DDR... oh well, after that we went back to David's to watch random TV, like
this strange stereotypical Asian cartoon and Jeopardy. |
| 9.1.01 8:45 AM (Saturday) |
TI haven't updated in a week... hmm... nothing too
eventful happened this week. On Tuesday one of my sister's friends drove me to my
school appointment so I could change my schedule, but I didn't end up changing
anything because 5th period Physics is full... then we went to Gameworks that
day. On Thursday I went school shopping Downtown with my mom, bought a ton of Old
Navy clothes (eh I don't really dress ghetto anymore) and some Adidas shoes (I
was thinking of getting K-Swiss but they didn't really look that nice...) then I
got a ride to this potluck I planned with David, except hardly anyone came...
er... yeah everyone came and it was really popular, we all had so much fun, and
there was tons of good food there. We went to Peter's house afterwards and we
decided to go to Red Robin @ Southcenter, which was really good. Yesterday my
sister wanted to go shopping for her shoes so I went along (Southcenter, of
course) and we played DDR three times. The 4th mix machine at Silver Coin is so
much better than the 3rd mix at Gameworks! They've got better songs too. "BA
KKWO! BA KKWO!" hehe...
